The New Tannoy Mercury range offers a choice of loudspeakers for home cinema or hi-fi applications of truly outstanding performance and value. The Mercury line-up comprises two bookshelf models, two floor-standers, a centre channel and a rear effects loudspeaker.

Materials and components have been carefully selected to maximise the system performance and offer real acoustic benefits. Solid wood material for the cabinet construction, including a substantial 19mm MDF front baffle, provide the essential cabinet rigidity required of a good loudspeaker design. To cater for both modern and more traditional decor, all the models are offered in either an apple wood or dark oak vinyl veneer.

Its neat, compact design makes the Mercury R not only an ideal solution for rear effects / surround applications but also as a front stereo pair where space is an absolute premium.

The high performance treble unit in each of the models utilises a 25mm (1") Nitro-urethane layer-damped woven polyester dome and a powerful neodymium magnet assembly. The system provides smooth and detailed frequency response up to 20kHz. The substantially built bass drivers utilise an extremely lightweight multi-fibre coated pulped paper cone offering exceptional rigidity and providing an extended and dynamic bass response with an open mid range performance.

All Mercury models are fully magnetically shielded to prevent colour fringing effects when the speakers are placed close to a TV or monitor. Fusion 2, 3 and 4 are equipped with bi-wire terminals allowing additional system optimisation.
